Brazilian courts rule for lower electromagnetic radiation

Brazilian courts concerned of human health and the environment order to lower electromagnetic radiation pollution.

The courts decision applied the provisions of the Brazilian Federal Constitution which declare the protection of health and a balanced environment, along with the precautionary principle contained in the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, known as the Rio Summit, which was put in place to protect the population against damage to health and the environment. Judge Renato Nalini mentioned the majority opinion recognized “the great possibility of the electromagnetic field of low frequency to be carcinogenic agent in human beings”
